EBRD and Raiffeisen Bank Aval combine efforts to support Ukrainian companies
Kiev. 22 Jan. — Loans, in particular on renewable energy projects, will be available for a greater number of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and some more size Ukraine after the signing today in Kiev the agreement between EBRD and Raiffeisen Bank Aval about the participation of Raiffeisen Bank Aval in the Program of shared risk (PRR).
In the framework of this programme, the Bank will be in the risks for loans, Raiffeisen Bank Aval to provide SMEs amount €20 million over three years. The PI will help to increase the size and maturity of loans to companies all over the country, as Raiffeisen Bank Aval will be able to work with high risks due to the partnership with the EBRD.
Also the framework of PI, the borrowers will have access to a variety of technical cooperation programmes, including a comprehensive package of technical assistance on the program EU4Business that is funded by the EU and implemented by EBRD. In particular, Ukrainian companies will be able to use international best practices in areas such as financial management, IT, and optimization management.
Chairman of the Board Raiffeisen Bank Aval, Volodymyr Lavrenchuk, said: “We are pleased to announce the beginning of our cooperation with EBRD the one important project, is expanding our ability to provide long-term financing and technical support for the average of the business. Last year we provided loans more than 1,100 companies, including 300 new customers. This program gives us the opportunity to double the support that we provided to Ukrainian companies in developing their business. This was remains a priority for our Bank”.

As of 30 Sep 2017 the Raiffeisen Group belonged to 68,28% of the shares of Raiffeisen Bank Aval and the European Bank for reconstruction and development — 30%.
